Grammy 2021: Watch Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Perform "WAP" For the First Time
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit the stage and performed "WAP" for the first time at the 2021 Grammys.
Grammys just got a little X-rated.
Cardi Band Megan Thee Stallion might have just did the raunchiest set the Grammys have ever seen. The performance started with Megan Thee Stallion, who performed her hit "Body" and "Savage Remix. (Interestingly enough, Beyoncé, who was in the audience, didn't join in on the performance; the Grammys were definitely hurt by this.)
Then, Cardi came out by herself and performed her latest hit, "Up." Finally, Cardi was joined by Meg again and they both did their no. 1 smash hit "WAP. (With a giant stripper shoe in the back). This was the first time the two performed their hit together and it was a phenomenal performance (one that we are sure CBS executives were sweating over.)
"WAP," which samples Frank Ski’s Baltimore club hit “Whores In This House,” was probably the defining song of 2020. The song, which stands for "Wet Ass Pussy," debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song would end up spending four weeks at the top of the charts.
It's already been a big night for Megan Thee Stallion. She won the Best New Artist award and then, after the performance, she won Best Rap Song for the "Savage" Remix.
Cardi doesn't have any major animations this year. But, over the weekend, she took to Twitter to show love to some of the "small Black artists." who were nominated. This included shout-outs to CHIKA, Kaytranada, D Smoke, Royce 5’9”, Freddie Gibbs, Jay Electronica, Brittany Howard, Free Nationals, and more.
