Cardi B Calls off Divorce From Offset According To New Report
Apparently, there's been a change of heart between the two artists.
Cardi B has changed her mind about divorcing Offset. On Monday, TMZ reported her lawyers officially filed to dismiss her complaint for divorce today.
TMZ alleges Cardi and Offset worked things out publicly during her birthday festivities several weeks ago. The report notes that she filed her dismissal "without prejudice" meaning she has the right to refile for divorce at a later date if she chooses to do so.
Back in September, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset. According to a report from The Blast, the filing was made at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on September 15. In a separate report from Page Six, a hearing was scheduled for November 4.
The divorce filing follows previous accusations of Offset's infidelity while being married to Cardi. In January 2018, she had addressed rumors about the Migos rapper cheating on her on Twitter.
"No, it’s not right for a [n***a] to cheat…But what you want me to do?" she wrote at the time. "Go f**k me another n***a? Start all over again and get cheated on again? This sh** happens to everyone and I be too, you too…People handle they relationship different soo."
In a February 2018 interview with Cosmopolitan, Cardi spoke further about the topic and why she decided to stay with Offset after initial claims that he'd been unfaithful.
"I'm not your property. This is my life … I'm going to take my time, and I'm going to decide on my decision," she added. "It's not right, what he f—ing did — but people don't know what I did, 'cause I ain't no angel."
Cardi and Offset secretly married in September 2017. The pair made their announcement public with an on-stage proposal later that month. The following year, she announced that she was pregnant; she gave birth to her daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus in July 2018. Later that year, she had shared that she was splitting from Offset, saying at the time: "I’m gonna always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father."
