Chance the Rapper Talks Kanye West, LeBron James & More on Hot 97
Chance the Rapper has spent the last couple of days in New York City, promoting his Governors Ball set. Yesterday, he was on The View — where he had very controversial views on LeBron James being better than Michael Jordan — and this morning he appeared on Ebro in the Morning on HOT 97, or, as he called it, the Chance the Rapper Morning Show.
Chance the Rapper was on the show for almost an hour. And, because of this, Chance and hosts Ebro and Peter Rosenberg basically talked about everything from his relationship with Barack Obama to his brother Taylor Bennettcoming out as bisexual to what Kanye West is up to.
Chance the Rapper Says He'll Never Run for Public Office
Here are some highlights:
- He doubled down on his opinion that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan, saying “You’ve got be a certain type of basketball nostalgia fanatic to not fully respect LBJ.” He also says that part of it is he considers LeBron to be a great man off the court, as well.
- On his brother's social media bisexual announcement: "We honestly didn't talk about it until after he put it out on Twitter." Chance would go on to say that because of how he did it, Taylor was able to avoid any awkward family conversations.
- He also talked about being in the studio while Kanye West was crafting Life of Pablo. He claims that he was the one that encouraged Kanye to keep the "bleached asshole" line from “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” (Thanks, Chance.) He also said that Francis, from Francis and the Lights, is working with Kanye West on his upcoming album. He was also pressed about Kanye's infamous meeting with Donald Trump. Chance didn't seem to bothered, claiming that he won't let that affect their relationship.
The whole interview is pretty great. Watch it below.
