For the last couple of months, there has been a running joke about Chance the Rapperrunning for Mayor of Chicago. The joke gathered so much momentum, a petition was started

Of course, the idea of Chance running for public office was far fetched...but not too far fetched when you consider our political situation right now. However, during a new interview, Chance put those political ambitions to rest.

Chance the rapper recently appeared on the cover of Ebony Magazine. And despite the fact that the cover of the magazine features the headline "Chance the Rapper for President," the rapper revealed that he is not interested in running for public office.

"I would never run for any office or government position...I’m not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn’t get done. There’s a lot of favors, and a lot of people are held back by their intentions of being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you’re in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter."

It's interesting insight from the rapper, considering that his father, Ken Bennett, has worked intimately with politicians like President Barack Obama and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel

Chance the rapper sounds better than Chance the Politician anyway.
