Missing Woman Shantieya Smith Found Dead In The Same Area Chicago Teen Was Discovered
Shantieya Smith, a Chicago woman who went missing around late May, has been found dead following the discovery of a missing teen girl, Sadaria Davis, who was also found dead.
Shantieya Smith, 26, was found in an abandoned garage on the West Side of Chicago. The garage was "about a block away from where she lived and about 5 miles from where the teen was found," according to the Chicago Tribune. The teen the Tribune is referring to is Sadaria Davis, the 15-year-old who went missing in April only to recently be found dead in a vacant apartment.

The deaths of Smith and Davis have been tied to the disappearance of four other women who've gone missing from the city's West Side. However, a police superintendent recently addressed the rumor, which has been circulating throughout social media.
"Somehow the community has linked all six and there"s just no evidence of that," Superintendent Eddie Johnson said. "Then the community calls us with bogus tips. They think they're helping. Those 1,000 tips are unrelated. We have to chase all those down."
Aside from the victims' disappearances being tied to each other, other rumors included allegations of mutilation and a man believed to be connected to the deaths of Smith and Davis. As the Tribune notes, "The man was located earlier this week in Tennessee, where he had gone in light of the rumors. The man is in custody on unrelated charges, and Chicago detectives plan to question him."
Since putting the man in custody, police have learned that he was with Smith and Davis before they disappeared. The victims' bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition when they were found. Toxicology tests are being done to determine how they died.
