The events will take place in New York City's Union Square (July 13) and Fort Greene Park (July 14), L.A.'s Santa Monica Pier (July 14) and Fairfax High School (July 15), and, on Saturday, London's Lovebox festival. Gambino headlines the festival that same night. The series was announced via a new website and Instagram account.
Nothing else is known in regards to the events including if Gambino will actually be present at the ones listed in New York City and Los Angeles.
Previously, Gambino released a two-track Summer Pack which features songs "Summertime Magic" and "Feels Like Summer."
Recently, reports surfaced that the "Redbone" artist was being sued by his old record label Glassnote Entertainment Group for streaming royalties. However, the label has since spoken on the case and said they've only filed a complaint about digital royalties for the master recordings of the three albums Glover released with the label: Camp, Because the Internet, and Awaken, My Love!
"Donald Glover made a claim that he was owed 95% of SoundExchange royalties when we are legislatively and contractually required to share those royalties 50/45. When we tried to assert our position, he became strident. His lawyers sent a demand for $1.5mm and threatened a lawsuit on his behalf," a representative for the label said. "We have simply asked the court to review the contract and to provide a declaration of relief that our position is correct pursuant to our contract and federal copyright law and that monies paid by SoundExchange to Glassnote can be retained by Glassnote, in the same way that monies paid by SoundExchange to Donald Glover can be retained by him."
