Two months ago during an interview with BBC Radio 1, Glover discussed how his mom and a hairdresser in Atlanta helped shape "Redbone" into the hit single it inevitably became.
"That was the breaking point, my mom was like 'this song's good,'" Glover said. "She plays it all the time."
Glover then recounts how he showed an unfinished version of "Redbone" at an Atlanta salon, and although the group enjoyed the song's beginning they did not care much for the rest of the track.
"The middle I felt like needed some work because they weren't responding the same way," Glover said. "So I went back in the studio and worked on it."
