Days after announcing her debut solo album In Pieces, Chlöe released new single and music video "Pray It Away."
For the rollout of her forthcoming solo debutIn Pieces, Chlöe took it to church in her music video for new single "Pray It Away." Directed by Madeline Kate Kann, the 3-minute visual was shot in a historical Los Angeles church, with Chlöe, birth name Chloe Bailey, singing about wasting time in a previous relationship.
Earlier this week, Bailey announced that In Pieces is set to arrive in March. The 24-year-old also mentioned that he previous singles "Have Mercy," "Treat Me," "Surprise" and "For the Night" featuring Latto would not be on the album. As part of Chloe x Halle with younger sister, Halle Bailey, the Parkwood Entertainment sister duo released two albums, 2018’s The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour. Along with new music, Chloe will star in upcoming films The Georgetown Project, Midas Touch and Praise This, all expected to be released this year. Also this year, Halle will also star in long-awaited remakes of The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple.
In a recent interview with Complex, the singer-songwriter and producer discussed what listeners can expect from her and her sister’s separate albums.
“What people can look forward to musically from us as a duo is definitely more,” she said. “My sister and I have been traveling the world. Separately, we have been taking in our own experiences. Now, you will get both perspectives in the studio. I think there are two completely individual perspectives—now, in our new music, and all on the same songs.”
