Chris Rock Imparts Fatherly Advice, Talks 'Top Five' + The Record Deal That Never Was On The Tonight Show
Chris Rock joined The Tonight Show crew last night for an extensive sit-down with Jimmy Fallonand all the stories you can imagine. The legend of stage and screen took a moment to extend some wise words to Fallon, who had just brought in his second daughter last week, cementing the "two kids are better than one" into an admittedly intimidated late-night host. Naturally (with Rocks directorial debut in Top Fiveright around the corner) they continued with a rundown of Jimmy's five-piece for the books, which brought 1985's novelty rap spitting Rappin' Duke to light for the first time since Biggie's "Juicy".
The pair of SNL alum also touched on the little-known and ultimately never capitalized upon record deal Rock received early in his career and the prospect of ever hearing or seeing a rap album from the irreverent and legendary comedian. Though it seems like that might be one for the vault, I think we can all comfortable say that with his level of expertise in the realm (and a hardline into Questlove and Prince's camps) whatever might come from his time in the booth would be worth at least one listen. You can hear all of these stories and more in a hilarious new episode of The Tonight Show below.
