Chromeo Flies High In The Friendly Skies With Canadian Airline Share Acquisition
Chromeo marks their first major leap into business ownership (outside of their musical careers of course) with a newly penned partnership with the Canadian airline Air Mallard. The partnership lands them as both major equity holders and spokespersons for the newcomer airline, which already has a Midwestern and Canadian presence, with boutique service to Beirut, Montreal and -- naturally -- Minneapolis per the group's request. Dave 1 explains:
"When Mallard approached us about share acquisition, we thought it was a joke, but when we got to know the people behind the airline, a creative and dynamic group of engineers and venture capitalists, this partnership made total sense. Besides, our business managers always encouraged us to diversify our investments. For a band like us, this feels bold and new."
P-Thuggadds :
"We spend our life on airplanes, and there's always something wrong: from the uniforms to the business class menu, to the way they handle oversize baggage. Our association with Mallard will give us the opportunity to change that and to offer a travel experience the way we see it."
It seems the partnership is more than just an attempt to to get some free flyer miles, rather, that the group has a vested interest in improving the quality of travel across the board. You can catch the fellas on the road or in the air as they' finish up their Summer festival run, capping things off with an epic Summerstage appearance in Central Park September 12th with special guest Big Freedia.
