According to a report in TMZ, Kanye West had been slated to headline the Indio, CA festival, but bowed out. After negotiations with festival organizers fell through over a disagreement on the setup, West reportedly called the stage "artistically limiting.” Coachella organizers Goldenvoice confirmed that they could not accommodate his requests.
At his most recent “Saint Pablo Tour," West performed on a floating platform, and last month at Camp Flog Gnaw, he performed alongside Kid Cudi in a glass box that floated above the stage.
The festival is on its 20th year and will launch this year on the consecutive weekends of April 12 and April 19. Tickets go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. PST and can be purchased at the official Coachella website.
