Comedy Central Pulls Comedian's Joke About XXXTentacion's Death Amid Outrage From Fans
The comedian has since issued an apology as well.
During an appearance on Comedy Central's This Week at the Comedy Cellar, comedian Dina Hashem made a joke about XXXTentacion's death that resulted in backlash from fans and friends of the late rapper.

"Is anyone still mourning XXXTentacion?" Haslem says as she begins her bit. "He's a rapper who was murdered. He's dead now. He was shot, he was on his way to buy a car with $50,000 in cash and somebody shot him and took the money."
"Which is very tragic, but I think also it would be a very good Venmo commercial," she continues. "That's the first thing I thought when I heard that. Like, 'I don't have Venmo, I should get Venmo."
The tweet promoting the show and Hashem's bit about the rapper, as well as the final cut of the episode that included the joke, has been updated at the request of Hashem's management team, according to Yahoo! Entertainment.
Hashem also took to Instagram to apologize about the joke, saying:
"I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings, that's never what I want. I'm a comic and use jokes to try and make dark topics less painful but I realize not everyone feels that way, and I don't want anyone to feel badly. It was taken down and won't air on TV."
Fans and friends of XXXTentacion called out Hashem for the joke.
"Y'all take a look at this clown," Ski Mask The Slump God, a rapper who was a friend of XXXTentacion's and a collaborator early on in his career, tweeted with a link of the since-deleted Hashem joke.
"Who is that disgusting comedian who tried to make a wack joke about XXXTentacion death?" DJ Akademiks also tweeted.
However, some comedians and rappers have also come to Hashem's defense.
"Look this XXXTentacion shit is actually very simple so lemme sum it up for you: YES you can rap about murder but NO you can’t joke about murder but also YES you can beat the shit outta women but NO women can’t tell jokes about said abuser what part of this do you not understand??" Curtis Cook tweeted.
Open Mike Eagle also spoke out in support of the joke, tweeting:
