Common's 'Like Water For Chocolate' Receives 15th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue
It's been a damn good year for you crate diggers. First we got word that D'Angelo's debut record Brown Sugar would be hitting wax for the first time ever in honor of the album's 20th year. Then Danger Doom's classic The Mouse And The Mask turned up for it's own 10th anniversary re-pressing. And now (adding another classic from the era to your wish list) Common's fourth studio album Like Water For Chocolate has gotten it's own reissue treatment, celebrating the Soulquarian piece's 15th year in our ears. Featuring the likes of J Dilla, Pino Palladino, Jeff Lee Johnson, our very own Questlove, James Poyser, Karriem Riggins, Erykah Badu and the whole crew, LWFC belongs to that storied era when the Soulquarian collective owned both the musical landscape and approximately three studios in the house that Jimi built (Electric Lady Studios.) The record has been pressed to green and white colored vinyl as a 2xLP and is available to purchase exclusively via My Play Direct. We'll do our best to lock down a few copies for our own shop, so be sure to stay tuned for updates. Happy diggin' y'all.
