Common Strikes Again w/ "Lovestar" feat. Marsha Ambrosius
Commonfans take heed, the Chicago rapper is back today with another new gem in "Lovestar." Linking with longtime friend and collaborator, Marsha Ambrosius, Com builds a lovely suite of heart-warming romance raps and restrained lo-fi drums with a little nod to the late J Dilla in a mid-track Donuts tease. It arrives months after Soulection Radio premiered the hard-knocking Karriem Riggins collaboration "Home," which makes two quality cuts in the same amount of months. Given his current slate of film and TV projects (Suicide Squad, Leavey, an untitled "Black Samurai" series") that in itself is more than impressive.
You can hear the latest from Common down below and if it's good to ya, pick up your copy on iTunes today. No full-length release has been announced just yet, with this recent surge we wouldn't rule anything out. His last album Nobody's Smiling, was a gritty one, produced entirely by No I.D. with contributions from Vince Staples, Jhene Aiko, James Fauntleroy and Big Sean. If you're in need of a reminder, you can pick that up on iTunes as well. Hold tight for more in the weeks and months ahead.
