Conway the Machine Drops 'From King to a GOD' Album
Conway is now on his third release of the year so far.
Griselda Records continues its hot streak on Friday, with the release of a new Conway project, From King to a GOD. The 14-track project is the third of four announced releases Conway has announced for this year.
Earlier this year, Conway dropped No One Mourns the Wicked, a collaborative project with Big Ghost Ltd. A month before that, he teamed up with The Alchemist to release the LULU EP. Earlier this week, he dropped the "Lemon" video, which features the legendary Method Man.
"I just hope they see the growth and maturity," Conway said in an interview with Complex regarding the project. "That's why I named it From King to a GOD. This is just different. This is the elevation as a man, as a lyricist, as a father, as everything. From King to a GOD. You feel me?"
From King to a GOD is the collective's first full-length release since the death of their longtime DJ/producer DJ Shay. Shay's death caused Armani Caesar's debut project The Liz and Westside Gunn's Shady Records debut Who Made the Sunshine to be delayed. The former was scheduled for August 21, while the latter was due August 28.
From King to a GOD features guest appearances from DeJ Loaf, Method Man, Freddie Gibbs, Lloyd Banks, Havoc, and more. Conway recruited heavy hitters like DJ Premier, Havoc, Erick Sermon and Hit-Boy as well as Griselda mainstays Daringer and Beat Butcha to handle production duties.
