D'Angelo Will Deliver His First Televised Interview In Over 10 Years Tomorrow Night w/ Tavis Smiley
2014 may have been the year of Black Messiah, but this year is surely the one in which we actually get know the enigmatic genius that is D'Angelo. And he's about to make it that much easier to for you do so, delivering his first televised interview in over 10 years to The Tavis Smiley Show, which will air in two parts tomorrow and Thursday nights. Little is known of what the interview's content will consist of, but according to Pitchfork, the talk will center on D's 14-years-in-the-making comeback piece and his upbringing in the Pentecostal church, the latter of which has been discussed at least in part by D in his Fireside Chat with Chairman Mao or his brother Luther's interview with RBMA, both of which should act as fitting companion scripts for the session.
But even as D takes a moment to reflect on his massive year amongst us, he remains committed to the road with the incomparable, high-flying funk revue that is the man and the band's (The Vanguard) live show. Check out the remaining dates of what has been a historic tour below and tune in to PBS tomorrow night for part one of D'Angelo's first televised interview in over 10 years.
