Dave Chappelle And Dylan From 'Making The Band' Have Finally Met
Over 13 years, later Dave Chappelle and Dylan from Making The Band finally met.
The two met for the first time this past Friday during a party Chappelle was hosting at the House of Vans. In a video taken by Dylan and posted on his Instagram account, the footage shows the two quoting lines from the popular Chappelle's Show sketch (of course it begins with the famous comedian repeating Dylan's name five times), as well as Chappelle recording a brief promo for Dylan's upcoming album Pain 2 Power.
"For those who grew up watching me...you know how epic and amazing this was. My first time meeting @chappellercmh. My album is coming Sep 15th. I guess the stars lined up at the perfect time. Bless up to @wyclefjean@diddy and everyone else I reunited with this year," Dylan captioned the Instagram video with.
The Making The Band sketch, which premiered alongside a number of other sketches on an episode of Chappelle's Show that dropped back in March 2004, included many memorable lines (especially with Chappelle portraying Diddy) but one of the most memorable was Chappelle's portrayal of Dylan, who was a member of Da Band, a hip-hop group managed by Diddy. In the sketch, Chappelle as Dylan rhetorically asks "Who are the top five greatest rappers of all time," only to respond "Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan because I spit hot fire."
