JAY-Z Appoints Desiree Perez CEO of Roc Nation
Perez was previously the COO of Roc Nation, her appointment is effective immediately.
JAY-Z has named Desiree Perez CEO of Roc Nation, this appointment follows her being announced as the executive of the year at Billboard's annual Women in Music event.
Formerly the COO of the company, Perez has been a part of Roc Nation for a decade. Jay Brown who previously held the role of CEO will now act as vice chairman. According to Billboard, the appointment is effective immediately and she will lead and develop Roc Nation's many verticals including music, publishing, TV and film, touring and more.
At Billboard's 2019 Women in Music event, Brown introduced her. As a part of her acceptance speech she thanked her business partners and the leadership of JAY-Z and Brown. Perez also spoke about how she's where she is in the company thanks to the "support, encouragement, and equality" at Roc Nation. She also shared, "Thank you to our family. Rihanna, I'm forever grateful for you. Meek Mill, Uzi, Gotti, Joe, Khaled, Alicia, Kyrie; the list goes on and so much incredible talent that I get to work with everyday. I love them."
