As a part of its "Spotify Singles: Holiday" playlist, DMX's "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" is featured alongside other Christmas song covers by Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, Wyclef Jean, Wynton Marsalis, and Xavier Omar and Sango. But obviously DMX's cover is the highlight of the 25-song playlist, clocking in at one minute and 37 seconds to insure that you listen to the track again and again and again.
Earlier this year, DMX spoke of his admiration for Erykah Badu in a short video clip which the soul singer shared on her Facebook account.
"It was a whole other sound," DMX recalls on first hearing Badu's music. "There's not many people I'm a fan of...to have met such a genuine artist, I'm blessed."
The rapper also performed at this year's Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival alongside The Lox and Rakim. Although many wondered if he would actually make his scheduled appearance (he had been arrested for tax evasion a couple days prior), DMX took the stage with "They Don’t Know," as well as performed "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Get At Me Dog."
