Donald Glover Making New Animated 'Deadpool' TV Series
Donald Glover's Atlantawill not be the only project the multi-talented creative will be creating for FX.
Donald, along with his brother Stephen, will be working on an animated Deadpool series for FX's sister channel FXX. The Glover brothers will serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers of the series, while Marvel's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will serve as executive producers.
"Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who'll bring the 'untitled Marvel's Deadpool' series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta," Nick Grad, FX's President of Original Programming, said in a statement. "With the success of Legion, we're looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original."
"How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth! We're thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation," Loeb added.
The untitled Deadpool series will debut sometime in 2018, with the first season featuring 10 episodes.
As for Donald's Atlanta, the second season of the show is not expected to drop until sometime in 2018 as well. But it seems as if this forthcoming series on Deadpool is a part of the overall deal he signed with FX earlier this year.
