Drake's "Scorpion" Sets New Record With One Billion Streams in 1st Week
Drake just made history.
Drake's fifth studio album, Scorpion, has passed the one billion mark in total streams, according to a press release from the rapper's record label Republic Records.
This marks the first time an album has hit this milestone in one week.

According to Republic Records, the 25-track album released on June 29th, has broken the "all-time US one-week streaming record” in under three days, and the “all-time Global one-week streaming record” in four days.
Scorpion is now the no. 1 release on the Billboard Top 200, marking Drake's eighth consecutive no. 1 on the chart.
According to Forbes, he's also scored “the most RIAA singles certifications of any artist in history” with 142 million digital single sales to date.

The album, which features a guest appearance from Jay-Z and previously unreleased vocals by the late Michael Jackson, spawned a new dance challenge online called the "#InMyFeelingsChallenge."
Drake also made headlines with the project for confirming rumors that he fathered a child.
