Estelle Launches Her Own Label 'New London Records' + Announces New LP
Our homegirl Estelle became the captain of her own soul today--so to speak--when she announced the launch of her very own label imprint--New London Records. In an official press release, the UKplayer revealed that the next two installments of her three-volume series of Love & Happiness EPs will be released on the independent label in partnership with BMG (with whom she's worked as a writer since 2003).
"This is a new and exciting move for me," Estelle said in the press release. “BMG has been an awesome partner throughout my career, and with New London we plan to continue bridging the gap between soul, pop, London and New York -- uniting them through music."
Richard Blackstone, Executive Vice President of BMG added:
“Estelle has been a valued member of the BMG family as a writer for some time now. She is a deeply, passionate artist gifted with a tremendous voice and has music running through her veins. We are thrilled that Estelle has expanded our relationship and entered into a new partnership with BMG Label Services to release her upcoming album.
Estelle will release Vol. 2 (Waiting to Exhale) of the series in August and Vol. 3 (How Stella Got Her Groove Back) in October. The first volume--Love Jones, comprising the tracks "Call These Boys"; "Til Tomorrow" and "Whatever You Like"-- was released in June and is currently available for download on her website www.estelledarlings.com. Estelle's fourth studio album is slated for release on New London in February although as yet no title is forthcoming (and it remains unclear whether the EP tracks will provide the backbone of the tracklisting, as similar series released by Miguel and The Weeknd). Stay tuned for more music and more details in the near future. And in the meantime beaucoups congrats to Estelle on this major step up in creative control.
