First Look Friday: Pegasus Warning- "Acoustiq" [Official Video] + 'Woof Ticket' EP [Stream]
Guillermo Brown or as NYC residents may know him, Pegasus Warning;has defied the fairly well refined segment of the Lower East Side's music and art scene that solely devotes itself to shock imagery and droll soundscapes without virtually any substance to uphold their crafts. Guillermo boasts a compelling brand of neo-punk funk and eerie Mad Max-era post-apocalyptic glam aesthetic that makes him a truly unique entity within the scene. An accomplished vocalist thats toured with the likes of Jamie Lidell, Twin Shadow and most notably Saul Williams, Pegasus delivers on all accounts. Melding perfectly glitchy sampling techniques with Prince's over the top, yet slightly lagging lo-fi drum sequences and super sub basses, what manifests can only be described as brilliant tonal discretions.
His track "Acoustiq" is wholly indicative of those sensibilities and the video is a true compliment with its distorted and blotchy stop-motion collaging. With beastly vocals and a band to boot, Pegasus Warning is getting set to conquer NYC. You can catch him at the last show of his residency at The Bowery Electric in NYC on Monday or on October 3rd at Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg. Until then, keep your ears open for more from the NYC native, watch the video for "Acoustiq" and stream his debut Woof Ticket EP below.
