Flavor Flav Denies Public Enemy Split Was An April Fool's Joke: "I Am Not A Part of Your Hoax"
Flav took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to clear the air.
The last few weeks have been a weird time for Public Enemy fans. On February 29, Chuck D announced that hypeman Flavor Flav was fired from the group. The announcement came after Flav filed a cease and desist against the Bernie Sanders campaign for using the group's name in promotional materials. Afterward, Flav released a statement that blamed Chuck D for his endorsement of Senator Sanders.
On Wednesday afternoon, Chuck released a new Public Enemy Radio album, Loud is Not Enough. Flavor Flav appears on the first single, "Food as a Machine Gun." Subsequently, Talib Kweli teased a clip of the latest episode of his People's Party with Talib Kweli. In the clip, Chuck claims Flav is still a member of the group. He implies that the split was a publicity stunt.

"He can't [be kicked out]," Chuck says in the clip. "He's a partner. You can't fire partners. You just walk away from 'em."
"I'm not saying it's a hoax," Chuck continued. "I'm saying the original intention was to get your attention and not play attention, get you to pay attention."
The full interview drops on Monday, April 6. Until then, Flav has already responded to Chuck's comments.
