FLOTUS Enlists Missy Elliott, Janelle Monaé + More For A Girl-Powered Anthem
FLOTUS Michelle Obama's role as arguably the most powerful woman in the world is coming to a painfully quick end. But with less than a year left on her tenure, Obama's got just a few more items to knock off her list before we contemplate a life without the cherished Chicagoan family in office. Today, Obama will deliver a keynote address at SXSW where it is expected that she will join Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, Diane Warren and actress Sophia Bush for a discussion that will bring awareness to the Let Girls Learn initiative, which strives to remove the barriers that keep 62 million women around the world from getting a decent education (a human right, especially in the wealthiest country in the history of the world.)
And just to drive it all home for you, FLOTUS Obama (who is now long overdue for a Flying Lotus-helmed mixtape) has enlisted the likes of Missy Misdemeanor, Janelle Monaé, Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, Kelly Clarkson and more for the girl-powered anthem, "This Is For My Girls."
