Frank Ocean is Allegedly Shopping Around His New Album
Frank Ocean is allegedly getting ready to make his return to music.
Last month was the five year anniversary of Frank Ocean'sEndless and Blonde. The reclusive singer hasn't made an album since and he has only made scant appearances on wax (including collaborations with Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator.)
That might be changing soon. According to a report from HITS Daily Double, not only does Frank have an album he's been working on he's already at the point where he's shopping new music around. The report says that Ocean has hired veteran lawyer Laurie Soriano of King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano and he has been taking meetings for labels, where he's been playing music. It is unclear who these labels are.
The last time Frank was signed to a major label was in 2016. The singer was signed to Def Jam, and he owed the label one more album. He released the visual album Endless, fulfilling his contractual obligations. Then — in one of the most gangsta moves by an artist ever — he released Blonde independently the very next day.
Frank Ocean was supposed to headline Coachella 2020. COVID-19 happened and the festival was cancelled. Ocean will now be headlining Coachella 2023 (he wasn't available for Coachella 2022.) We are sure by the time Coachella 2023 comes along, we will have some new Frank Ocean music.
Earlier in the week, Frank made an appearance at the Met Gala. While there he brought along a green robot. It was, honestly, one of the best outfits of the evening.
