Frank Ocean Is In Talks To Direct His First Film With A24

After writing the foreword for the Moonlight screenplay book, Frank Ocean is reportedly in talks with A24 to direct his first feature film.

Frank Ocean is putting a new feather in his cap. The vocalist is reportedly in talks with production companies A24 and 2AM to write and direct his debut full-length future film. Frank last wrote and directed his 2016 46-minute visual for Endless, where he built a spiral staircase.

According to Discussing Film, Frank is looking at New Mexico as a potential filming location and if all goes to plan, filming will begin in the fall, wrapping prior to January 2023. Plot details are unknown, but it's alleged that a current working title for the film is Philly.

2AM is an up-and-coming London-based production boutique which has currently produced two films, the forthcoming Bodies, Bodies, Bodies which stars Amandla Stenberg, Myha’la Herrold and Pete Davidson, along with yet-to-be-released drama Past Lives from director Celine Song. features executives Julia Oh and David Hinojosa who will reportedly assist with Frank's debut film. Oh and Hinojosa have previously worked on films Vox Lux, American Woman, Shirley, Zola, Mothering Sunday, and The Electrical Life of Louis Wain.

This wouldn't be the first time Frank collaborated with A24, he wrote the forward to the Moonlight screenplay book which was released in 2019. Several of his songs were included in 2019 film Waves along with its accompanying soundtrack.

Frank Ocean is also slated to headline Coachella in 2023, so it's possible that new music will arrive prior to his appearance.
