Pusha T, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, & More Close Out Summer 2017 at Genius' Epic 'IQ/BBQ'
There is always a hint of sadness to the beginning of September; it means the summer is over. There's only a limited amount of time to squeeze in some last-minute summer joy.
On Saturday, September9th, Geniusheld IQ/BBQ, theirinaugural end-of-summer celebration, in association withadidas and Atari.
The event, which was held at the brands' headquarters in Brooklyn, had food, drinks, trivia games, and arcades. But what everyonewas there for was the lineup of performers hitting the stage.
The lineup included a nice collection of newcomers, fromSki Mask The Slump Godwho has a great a hit on his hand with "Catch me Outside" to DeJ Loaf to Sonny Digital to A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
And then there was headliner Pusha Twho easily got the loudest applause of the night. The veteran rapper was on stage for about 40 minutes and did a greatest hits collection of solo joints and guest appearances.
Pusha T performed with the perfect mix of efficiency and charisma. The show was concise, with Push racing through popular verses and songs like "I Don't Like (Remix)," "Numbers on the Board," and "Grindin.' But he also found time to swagger around the stage and banter with the crowd. He took a song request performing "Crutches, Crosses, Caskets" in the process and pointed and joked around directly with members in the crowd. At one point he signed a fan's shoes. (The fan was waving his white adidas EQT Boost at Pusha for much of the performance,)
