Ginuwine Passes Out Attempting Underwater Magic Trick That Goes Wrong
During a magic trick rehearsal with magician Criss Angel, R&B veteran Ginuwine passed out while submerged in an underwater tank.
R&B veteran Ginuwine was passed out during a dangerous underwater magic trick rehearsal with magician Criss Angel. Earlier this week, the "So Anxious" singer was filmed partaking in a stunt where he held his breath underwater while encased in a glass tank. In a clip, the singer is seen flailing his arms in the tank to signal his distress before being laid down.
Daily Mail reported that paramedics were called to the scene as Ginuwine, whose real name is Elgin Baylor Lumpkin was briefly unconscious, later making a full recovery.
"It all happened so fast, it was like he got tapped out in a fight," a source said.
Although Lumpkin passed out within 15 seconds during rehearsals, he re-did while filming Criss Angel's Magic With the Stars reality television show on The CW. The show premieres on October 22, with Angel, comedian Loni Love and magician Lance Burton serving as judges. With comedian Eddie Griffin set to host, celebrities slated to appear on Criss Angel's Magic With the Stars includes Donny Osmond, Frankie Muniz, Brec Bassinger, Debbie Gibson, Matt Walsh, Flavor Flav, Randy Couture, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.
Although new to magic shows, Lumpkin has recently gone viral for his onstage antics, which have since turned into memes.
While teasing the upcoming Criss Angel competition series, Lumpkin responded to those poking fun at his meme-worthy moves.
“I see I gotta stop calling myself the ole man lol," he wrote. "I didn’t know I was still even newsworthy. And for those who know me you already know I’m defiant as f*** so letsgetit!!!! Funny or not, my homies always tell me, you don’t understand who you are G."
