"Fuck [the] Grammys:" Goldlink Sends Withering Critique Towards the Grammy Awards
The Diaspora MC bashed the Recording Academy's selection process and lack of international consideration.
The Recording Academy officially announced Grammy nominees Wednesday morning (November 20th.) Maryland rapper Goldlink, who wasn't nominated, responded to the selection with a scathing critique on Instagram.
Goldlink defended Burna Boy, Koffee, and Dababy in the post. DaBaby scored two nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. However, due to his extensive mixtape catalog, he wasn't eligible for Best New Artist honors.
The Academy nominated Koffee's Rapture EP for Best Reggae Album, and Burna Boy's African Giant album for Best World Music Album. Additionally, Goldlink also mentioned the Academy placed Tyler the Creator's Igor in the Best Rap Album category.
