GoldLink Grabs Marsha Ambrosius For Soulful "See I Miss Part Two"

One of the standout tracks of GoldLink's debut album And After That We Didn't Talk is "See I Miss."

Accompanied by Anderson .Paak, GoldLink reminisces about a past lover over reverberated keys and a head bobbing groove. The closer encapsulates the overarching theme of And After That — sometimes you cannot help but miss a previous partner, even as a considerable amount of time has passed since its dissolution.

Now, in honor of the album's one year anniversary, GoldLink has released another version of the track, "See I Miss Part Two," which features Marsha Ambrosius.

In an interview with Saint Heron the rapper chose Ambrosius because of her "Floetry," adding:

"Marsha added a certain balance and flavor to the song that only a woman could provide and it sounds great. A lot of people make songs about relationships and it's really one-sided. You don't always get to have another creative with a fundamentally different outlook and approach add to it in a genuine way. So I'm really grateful this was able to happen."

Okayplayer recently had the opportunity to chop it up with GoldLink about his rising career, and his working with relationship with producer Kaytranada.

"We work very well in a certain way together, but we never just sit down and make ideas. He'll sing whatever and I'll vibe with whatever is going on," GoldLink said in regards to Kaytranada. "After that whatever I write I just hope that he'll let me have. Other than that I think that he's a genius and I'm pretty good myself—that's why we both work best the way we do."

In the interview he also talks about the possibility of crafting a supergroup with Sango and Masego saying, "I could definitely see that happening between us. Whether it is being involved in my project or being involved in theirs — at sometime the three of us will have something together."
