Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo & More to Perform At Governors Ball 2023
Artists appearing at the 2023 Governors Ball in New York City include Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Nas X, Giveon and more.
The 2023 Governors Ball lineup has been announced, with Kendrick Lamar and Lizzo as two headliners during the three-day music festival. Performers for "New York's Biggest Party" was revealed on Tuesday (January 17), with Lizzo headlining on Friday, June 9, following sets from Lil Uzi Vert, Joey Bada$$, Saba, PJ Morton, Maxo Kream and more.
On Saturday, June 10, Lil Baby, Kenny Beats, Koffee, Syd and others are set to perform before Kendrick Lamar closes out the festival on Sunday, June 11. Also scheduled for the final date are Lil Nas X, Giveon, Pusha T, Tems, Pinkpantheress, Sabrina Claudio and Phony Ppl.
While the 2020 edition of Governors Ball, scheduled to be held at Randall’s Island Park, was cancelled due to the pandemic. The latest two festivals took place in the parking lot at Citi Field in Queens. In a statement, Governors Ball co-founder Tom Russell discussed the move to Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
"Words can’t express how excited we are to bring Gov Ball to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, one of the most special and storied parks in all of New York City," Russell said. "Since moving to Queens in 2021 we’ve been overwhelmed by the welcome the community has shown us, and we look forward to continue being a part of and giving back to that community for years to come. We are honored to call such an iconic venue our new home, and we thank Mayor [Eric] Adams and his administration and Queensborough President Donovan Richards for their trust and support."
