Marco Polo x Rakim - "What's Wrong" + New LP
Producer Marco Polo prepares to drop his latest project - free LP Newport Authority 2. The release is the last of the tracks he compiled and could not fit on Port Authority 2 - the follow-up to 2007's Port Authority. The project is lead by "What's Wrong" featuring Rakim. The Canadian-born Polo has been a highly sought after producer since settling in New York City, so it comes as no surprise that he just happened to have a Rakim track sitting around. Originally recorded for Rakim's 2009 album Seventh Seal, the track was shelved until recently when Rakim gave the track back to Polo, who decided to add it to the project. Notorious for his mastery of the classic east coast sound, Marco Polo has won the respect of a legion of hall of fame caliber rappers. Listen to this track and you will understand why. It is obvious from the moment the track drops that only a certain type of rapper can carry this kind of beat - a god. Enter Rakim Allah. Port Authority 2 will be released on Soulspazm Records this spring. The album features Organized Konfusion, Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Masta Ace, Posdnuos of De La Soul, Kardinal Offishal, Styles P, Rah Digga, Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, O.C. and more.
