Lil Wayne is Now Free to Release 'Tha Carter V' After Reaching Settlement w/ Cash Money

After years of waiting, we might see Lil Wayne'sTha Carter V album this year. Lil Wayne has settled his two lawsuits with Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group.
According to The Blast, who obtained the court documents, Wayne will be receiving more than $10 million from Universal, and he will no longer be associated with Cash Money. Also, the label will release the long-awaited Tha Carter V, which was supposed to come out in 2014.

Wayne has been wrapped up in court drama with Birdman and Cash Money for years. The first lawsuit from Wayne was a breach of contract suit filed against Cash Money, Birdman, his brother Ronald “Slim” Williams, UMG Recordings, Inc., and Universal Music Group, Inc back in 2015.
The second lawsuit, filed in 2016, came against Universal Music Group, Inc. and SoundExchange, Inc. Wayne claims that Universal has withheld profits earned from the Young Money artists like Drake and Nicki Minaj.

These court issues have been settled, but that doesn't mean everything is good. According to The Blast, the two have "no relationship."
