Ice Cube Signs Multi-Picture Production TV & Film Deal

Twenty-seven years after Ice Cube founded media company Cube Vision, the rapper and entrepreneur has signed a new multi-picture production deal.

Ice Cube has a new endeavor in his bag. The rapper and multimedia mogul has recently signed to a multi-picture television and film deal with creative media production company Luminosity Entertainment in partnership with 5120 Entertainment and SmokeyScreen.

Per Deadline, Cube will co-produce a new roster of films and series, including upcoming comedy flick Cube in My Head, in which the rapper-actor will also star. The film will follow a “hapless white guy” who asks, “What if Ice Cube was inside my head?”

"Excited to be working with Elie and his team to make some great movies, especially this one." Cube said in a statement about the production deal. “Who couldn’t use me in their head?”

"It is a privilege to be able to establish a partnership with an individual as talented and well versed as Cube," added Geno Taylor, co-chief executive producer of Luminosity Entertainment.

Cube last starred alongside Tracee Ellis Ross in 2020 comedy-drama The High Note, starring as artist manager Jack Robertson. In October of last year, Cube declined getting a vaccination and walked away from starring in Oh Hell No with Jack Black, in which production reportedly cost $9 million dollars.

Production for Cube in My Head will begin later this year. Before then, Cube will be performing throughout the west coast in May, with concert stops in Las Vegas, San Diego, Fresno and Oakland.
