Iggy Azalea Has Written An "Open Letter" To Erykah Badu
If you've been anywhere near a computing device over the last few weeks, you're already keenly aware of the shade-throwing that's been taking place between the incomparable Erykah Badu and culture vulture du jour Iggy Azalea. To put it as painlessly as humanly possible, Miss Green Eyes declared Azalea's work as "definitely not rap" while hosting this year's Soul Train Awards and, of course Azalea fired back via Twitter, a place that Badu now navigates with ease. Things got a little heated, but after a few day's rest, Badu apologized for her remarks in a video during a Twitter AMA that was wild and loose and filled with plenty of Baduizms. Today we learn that Badu's apologies have been received and welcomed by the Australian performer, who responded to the heartfelt apology with an open note of sorts (hardly a letter,) inviting Badu and her children to her shows once she gets back on the road. We can't exactly call this one "real recognizing real," but this has to be as clean of a mend as we've ever seen in the age of rap beef. And good onto both of you for doing so with grace.
