Illa J Gives Off Sumertime Vibes in the "Enjoy The Ride" Video

This is pretty smooth.

On November 30th, Illa Jwill release his new album, John Yancey, under the Jakarta Records umbrella. The album will be the second collabo project Illa J has done with Calvin Valentine. (Last year they released the soulful Home together.)

We premiered the first single from the album, "Toyko," a couple of weeks ago. Now. he's following that song with the vibrant-sounding single "Enjoy the Ride."

For the video, we see Illa J ditch the Detroit cold and enjoy the Los Angeles sun.

The upcoming John Yancey album sees Illa J try to distance himself from his famous brother J Dilla. In a press release, Illa J said:

...for so long in my career I felt like I was tryna be me and my brother, and I’m finally at peace. I’m not J Dilla’s younger brother Illa J, I’m James’ younger brother John.
