Iman Omari Revives Two Rare Beat EPs In One New High-Vibing Upload
Left coast beatmaker Iman Omari has gotten himself in a generous mood; his new High-Loops & Higher Loops release, a dusty and gorgeous batch of instrumental cuts tailor made for rolling one, has just been announced. It's a compilation--Omari is effectively reissuing two of his past rare EPs, and pressing some of it to a cassette tape. Yes, that grainy physical medium is having a revival of sorts, on these beats will likely sound best through the spindly speakers of your old ghetto blaster.
High-Loops & Higher-Loops kicks off with "Addicted," a funk flip that stutters over a sunken drum beat, creating a lovely haze in the far corners of your mind. Other joints, including "L.A. Vibe" and his oughtta-be-legendary flip of Pharrell's "That Girl," which blends xylophone and acoustic guitars in between flute hits and an odd meter loop, conjuring up one of the most truly beautiful hip-hop productions of 2015. Omari has worked with numerous budding California artists, including our most-favorite new vocalist SiR, and on his new release it's plain to see just how brilliant and deep his talent runs. The full package will go on sale Friday, September 18th via Fresh Selects, with physical packages shipping out on November 1st. Listen to it and set your mind at ease below.
