With production ramping up on Coming to America 2, the cast is filling with familiar faces.

Though plot points are still slim, an early synopsis reveals the Zamundan duo will return to the states to find Akeem's long lost son (Fowler?) 30 years after the events of the original film. Craig Brewer(Hustle & Flow) is locked in to direct a script written by Black-ish creator, Kenya Barris. While previous reports put an August 7th, 2020, premiere on the film, it's been pushed back to December 2020, just in time for the holiday film rush.
The film will bolster what is already shaping up to be one helluva comeback for Murphy. Earlier this year, the comedian was honored with a Mark Twain Prize. And just yesterday, a report stated that he'd inked a $70 million deal with Netflix for what will be his first stand-up special(s) in over 30 years. He's also slated to star as Rudy Ray Moore in the upcoming biopic film, Dolemite is My Name, under the direction of Brewer.
