Jamie Foxx Remains Hospitalized For More Than Three Weeks
Weeks after reports of suffering a medical emergency, actor, comedian, and vocalist Jamie Foxx remains hospitalized.
Friends and loved ones of Jamie Foxx are calling for prayers. On Wednesday (May 3), TMZ reported that the actor, comedian, and singer has been hospitalized for three weeks after suffering from a medical emergency last month. The news came on April 12 on Instagram from a statement issued by Foxx’s 29-year-old daughter, Corrine.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement read. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
On Wednesday, May 3rd, Fox shared an update on his Instagram, thanking fans for the support:
While there hasn’t been an update about the specifics of Foxx’s condition, sources say that the 55-year-old will not return as co-host of Fox musical game series Beat Shazam. Instead, Foxx’s role will have a replacement, while Corrine is also rumored not to return as co-host and DJ.
Prior to his hospitalization, Foxx was in Atlanta filming the upcoming Netflix action-comedy Back In Action, which co-stars Cameron Diaz. Since then, a body double and stunt double has reportedly filled in for the Oscar-winner.
The actor last starred in 2022’s Day Shift, and has already filmed his scenes for another Netflix sci-fi comedy, They Cloned Tyrone, which is expected to release on July 21. Co-starring John Boyega (The Woman King, Breaking), and Teyonah Parris (The Marvels, Candyman), the film follows “a series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy.”
