Janelle Monáe Announces New Album, Shares Teaser Trailer Featuring Tessa Thompson
Janelle Monáe has announced her first new album in nearly five years.

The album is titled Dirty Computer and is being described by Monáe as an "emotion picture." Accompanying the announcement was a trailer for the forthcoming project, with the 33-second teaser trailer featuring Monáe and actress Tessa Thompson in a futuristic world.
A release has yet to be set for Dirty Computer. The album will serve as the follow-up to Monáe's 2013 album, The Electric Lady.
Monáe has been doing more in the acting world in recent years. In 2016, she was in films such as Hidden Figuresand Moonlight, portraying engineer Mary Jackson and Teresa, respectively.
Monáe ended up winning Breakout Performance awards for both roles at the 2017 AAFCA Awards.
