Janelle Monáe Stars in Trailer for Psychological Thriller 'Antebellum'
Antebellum is directed and written by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz of Us and Get Out.
Janelle Monáe stars in the first trailer for the upcoming horror movie Antebellum. At the moment, details surrounding the project are currently sparse but Polygon reports that Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz wrote and directed the movie.
The trailer features references to the American South's harrowing past and switches back and forth between the present and the past. Throughout the clip, Monáe is seen with a group friends, a child that could be her daughter and is later spotted in a hostage situation in a car. A creepy child in a white dress also seems to be following her.
Bush and Renz previously produced both of Jordan Peele's wildly successful film Get Out and Us. According to Shadow & Act, Antebellum also stars Kiersey Clemons, Gabourey Sidibe, Marque Richardson, Eric Lange, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa, Robert Aramayo and Lily Cowles.
Antebellum hits theaters on April 24, 2020.
