Officially entering his press cycle for 4:44, Jay-Z stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge for a candid and mountingly political discussion of his new album, family life and catalog.

Following a spirited performance of "Family Feud" and the Linkin Park collaboration, "Numb/Encore," Hov sat with host, Clara Amfo to dissect 4:44 and its jarring transparency, delving into the album's tones and themes, over and under. They go on to discuss the American political climate (Hov taking a moment to jab a the "joke" of Trump) in an exchange informed by the rapper-turned-mogul's more recent push in social justice initiatives. TIDAL, a high-fidelity streaming platform owned by Jay-Z, has just announced that their annual benefit concert will be held at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center with proceeds being donated to a range of organizations aiding in the relief of area's ravaged by this year's historically destructive barrage of hurricanes. He's rumored to perform along with Beyonce.
