Jay-Z Tops 'Forbes' List As The Richest Artist In Hip-Hop
Jay-Z is now the richest rapper in the world.
Jay-Z has topped Forbes' list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists— officially knocking Diddy out of the No. 1 slot for the first time in the list's seven-year existence. Diddy and Dr. Dreround out the top three slots on the list. The three moguls are not only the wealthiest hip-hop acts, but the richest American musicians of any genre.

The 48-year-old rapper's net worth jumped from $810 million to $900 million over the past year. According to Forbes, this increase is due mostly to the rising value of Hov's interests in Armand de Brignac champagne and D'Ussé cognac, with contributions from his nine-figure ownership stakes in his Roc Nation empire and Tidal streaming service.
Diddy, 48, made No.2 on the list, at a net worth of $825 million with his major liquor investments— His DeLéon Tequila label and stake in Ciroc vodka. Dr. Dre, 53, comes in next with $770 million thanks in large part to Apple's purchase of his Beats headphone line.

No. 4 is a tie between Drake, 31,— the youngest man on the list— and Eminem, with each said to be worth $100 million.
