Jonathan Majors No Longer Facing Assault and Defamation Lawsuit From Ex-Girlfriend

The former Marvel star was convicted on two counts of misdemeanor assault against his ex-girlfriend in December last year.

An assault and defamation lawsuit against Jonathan Majors from his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, has been dropped.

The suit was dropped Thursday, with The Wrap reporting that a joint statement was shared announcing the end of the suit.

“IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED by and between Plaintiff Grace Jabbari and Defendant Jonathan Majors, through their undersigned attorneys, that all claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice, pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), and each party will bear its own costs and attorneys’ fees,” the statement said, per The Wrap.

It is unknown why Jabbari dropped the suit or if a settlement was reached. Majors and Jabbari will be covering their own legal costs.

Back in December of last year, Majors was convicted on counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment against Jabbari.

Despite the guilty verdict, Majors denied any wrongdoing; in an ABC News interview released that following month, he said he has never “ever” struck a woman, adding, “I'm an athlete. I'm a sportsman. I know my body. I know how it moves. I know my strength, or lack thereof, you know? None of that was employed on [Jabbari].”

In March, Jabbari filed a civil suit against Majors, accusing him of malicious prosecution, assault and battery during their relationship, as well as defamation for maintaining his innocence following the conviction.

The former Marvel star has attempted to resurrect his acting career after losing out on his former role of Kang the Conqueror, which he played in Loki Season 1 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Kang was poised to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next major villain (the MCU has since shifted to Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom). Majors is set to appear in a revenge thriller titled Merciless, which will be directed by Martin Villeneuve, the younger brother of Dune director Denis Villeneuve.
