Donald Trump Says FBI & Department Of Justice Will Review "Outrageous" Jussie Smollett Case
Donald Trump has called on the FBI and Department of Justice to review Jussie Smollett's case.
Smollett had been indicted with 16 counts of filing a false police report. On Tuesday morning, the Cook County State's Attorney's office dismissed the charges against Smollett. In exchange, the actor forfeited a $10,000 bond payment to the city.

On Thursday morning, Trump took to Twitter to tweet the following: "FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!"
When Smollett's alleged hate crime attack occurred, Trump was sympathetic to the actor, saying that the altercation was "horrible" and that it "doesn't get any worse." As Smollett's case became more complicated and he was accused of orchestrating the attack, Trump's support changed.
"What about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments?" Trump previously tweeted.
After the charges against Smollett were dropped, he gave a press conference where he maintained his innocence.
"I have been truthful and consistent on every single level since day one," he said. "I would not be my mother's son if I was capable of one drop of what I have been accused of."
Trump isn't the only one disappointed in the charges being dropped. The Chicago Police Department and Mayor Rahm Emanuel have condemned the decision.
"This is a whitewash of justice," Emanuel said. "This is a person who has been let off scot-free with no sense of the accountability of the moral and ethical wrong of his actions."
