That same day, four other suspects were taken in custody. They were found hiding out in a house on East 24th Street in Paterson, New Jersey. When police got to the vicinity, one person was able to escape, but he was then apprehended minutes later.
According to NY1, Leandra Feliz, Junior's mother, had this message after the arrest:
I want to say thank you for everybody who is helping me and support to give any information, anybody have it to have justice for junior because my son was innocent. The video show I want justice for my son. He was a good boy, very good, a little shy, and his dream was to be a police.
On Friday, footage of the brutal attack was released. The video shows five men brutally attacking the 15-year-old teen with a machete. The attack is believed to be a case of mistaken identity.
Since the jarring footage was released, celebrities ranging from Cardi B to Rihanna have posted about the incident, using the hashtag #JusticeForJunior. Cardi was so moved by the story she donated $8,000 to Junior's family. She made the donation under her real name, Belcalis Almanzar, on the family's GoFundMe page.
