Watch A New Short Film Scored By Modern Jazz Sax Hero Kamasi Washington
Everything about Kamasi Washington happens across a massive scope. From his sprawling three hour debut LP The Epic to his stage-busting live performances, Washington is nothing if not vast in his artistic dealings.
Now, the man has expanded into the world of film, scoring a new short feature entitled Color Guard, which comes as the latest in Ray Ban's Never Hide Film series. It's described in a press release as such:
Color Guard is a comedy that tells the story of a young girl (Clover Nee) who requests that her babysitting Uncle Jamie (Jamie Granato) tell her a bedtime story. Jamie’s improvised tale centers around a group of color-blind and joyless adults, including Clover’s father Roland (Scovel), who attend “Guru Tiki Royal’s Color Camp For Adults” in efforts to be cured of their ailments and add color to their world.
