University of Kansas' Athletic Director Apologizes for Snoop Dogg Performance that Included Stripper Poles, Cash Guns, & Profanity
Snoop's racy showing at "Late Night in the Phog" led to a statement of apology in the Kansas City Star.
Over the weekend the University of Kansas basketball program kicked off their preseason with their annual preseason celebration "Late Night in the Phog." This season, coach Bill Self's squad hosted Snoop Dogg, who put on a 35-minute show featuring pole dancing, cash cannons, and uncensored deep cuts. After backlash from the fanbase, the Jayhawks' athletic director Jeff Long issued a statement to the Kansas City Star.
“We apologize to anyone who was offended by the Snoop Dogg performance at Late Night," Long said. "We made it clear to the entertainers’ managers that we expected a clean version of the show...I take full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and offer my personal apology to those who were offended. We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening,” Long added.
