Kanye West Is Reportedly Being Hospitalized In L.A.
NBC News reports that Kanye West is under observation at a Los Angeles hospital following a welfare call made to the LAPD. Due to the medical nature of the incident, the case was ultimately handed off to the Los Angeles Fire Department. PEOPLE has reported a source as saying that West is "exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation." This latests news comes on the heels of Kanye making controversial comments and canceling the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour.
This past Thursday night at a tour stop at San Jose’s SAP Center, West made comments regarding the recent Presidential election, among other things, that raised multiple eyebrows. “I said something that was kind of politically correct. I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But I didn’t tell you — I guess I told you — but if I would have voted I would have voted for Trump,” West said to the crowd, many of whom who booed. Then this past Saturday at a tour stop in Sacramento, California West continued where he left off, jumping into a rant following the performance of three songs that mentioned Beyoncé, Jay Z, Q-Tip, Taylor Swift, Hillary Clinton, and others.West then abruptly canceled the show, to the dismay of fans. Before dropping his mic and leaving West said:
"Q-Tip, I love you, bro. Don’t tell me how to be me, though. I love you. The Tribe album is dope. I love you. Don’t tell me how to be me, though. I’ve been me. I am me. There’s a Richard Pryor interview that you can watch about people coming into power and not changing everything and just becoming a part of the power. That’s happened with musicians because they’re scared. I’m not scared. I’m here to change things. I am here to change things. And things won't change until people admit their own falsehoods. I got the visions, bro. That’s what I’ve been blessed with. My vision. I’m not always going to say things the perfect way, the right way. But I’m going to say how I feel. Right now, press get ready to write your passive-aggressive, LeBron James, racist comments. Season 4, racist comments. Get ready to have a field day, press. Get ready, get ready. Because the show’s over."
Friend and collaborator Talib Kweli, in a series of concerned tweets following the aforementioned incidents and West's comments on Donald Trump, pleaded with Kanye to "Come back home."
